YORK – George A. Morris, 93, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Helene M. (Ruff) Morris. Funeral services and burial will be private at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born August 31, 1919 in York a son of the late Luther W. and Maude E. (Tauzer) Morris, he was a 1938 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and had attended Penn State and Thompson’s Business School. Mr. Morris was an Engineer at York International for 31 years and later retired from the former Flat Plate, Inc. He was a life member of West York VFW. Mr. Morris was a Sergeant Major in the US Army during WWII and served in the 21st Engineering Regiment. In addition to his wife, Mr. Morris is survived by a son, Matthew G. Morris of York; two daughters, Carol A. and husband William Schintz of York and Michele S. and Joel Tohtz of Kalispell, MT; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters, Anna Mae Brenner and Gloria Watson of York.
