George A. Felker POTTSVILLE: George A. Felker, 89 formerly of Pottsville and a resident at Seton Manor Nursing Home, Orwigsburg, PA., died Sunday evening at the Pottsville Hospital. Born in Pottsville, June 17, 1918, he was the son of the late George and Gertrude V. Rosewarne Felker. He attended Pottsville Schools. Mr. Felker was a World War II Air Force veteran. Mr. Felker work as a mechanic for the Bureau of Mines, Schuylkill Haven and Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA. Mr. Felker was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Pottsville, a life member and the oldest member of the West End Hose, Company; the Walter Griffith Amvet, and the VFW all of Pottsville. He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn M. (Steidle) three brothers Clarence, Norman and Robert Felker, and six sisters Shirley Duncan; Helen Curry; Verna Moran; Gertrude Purdue; Arlene Smith; Alberta Pinshock. Surviving are two daughters Janis, wife of Earl Mickey Blum, Deer Lake, PA and Nancy, wife of Dennis Sheipe, Schuylkill Haven, PA a son Dale G. Felker, Orwigsburg, PA. His loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren Dale Blum, Pottsville; Cheryl Dunkmen, Deer Lake, PA; Christine Smith, Bethlehem PA; Kevin Sheipe, Lake Wynonah, PA; Chris Felker, Exton, PA; Kimberly Marr, Schuylkill Haven, PA. Great-grandchildren Jocelyn Blum; Courtney, Mallorine, Connor Dunkmen; Alexander, Nicholas Smith; Hannah, Ryleigh Marr ; Jenna Felker; Ryan Sheipe; two sisters Flora, Pottsville, and Betty, wife of Daniel Venchauskas, Minersville, PA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 11, 2008, the Rev. Harold Hand officiating, at the Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Street, Pottsville, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday morning from 10:00 A.M. till time of service.
