Genevieve L. (Wineholt) Holzer

WRIGHTSVILLE- Genevieve L. (Wineholt) Holzer, 81, died on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Leon R. Holzer, who died on September 18, 1997. The couple wed on March 3, 1956. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Thomas Osenbach officiating. A viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to the service. Born on October 11, 1935 in Windsor Twp., she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Pauline M. (Fuller) Wineholt. Genevieve worked for Autokraft Box Corporation in Red Lion. Mrs. Holzer was a member of Springvale United Methodist Church where she was a long time choir member, a Sunday School chorister, enjoyed helping with the annual church picnic and making Apple butter. She loved baking and cooking, cats and dogs and was an avid card player. Mrs. Holzer is survived by three sons, Gregory Holzer and wife, Peg of Spring Grove, Brian Holzer and wife, Lindy of Wrightsville and Kevin Holzer and wife Lily of Springettsbury Twp.; one daughter, Jennifer Strine of Wrightsville; two step sons, Russell Holzer of Mt. Wolf and Barry Holzer of Red Lion; one step daughter, Sandy McGlaughlin and husband, Stretch of Brogue; five grandchildren, Jarod Holzer, Samantha Clark, Douglas Holzer, Danielle Savary and Nathan Strine; six great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn Koontz and husband, Amos of Lower Windsor Twp. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Mundis and Lillian Spotz. Memorial contributions may be made to Springvale United Methodist Church, 265 Circle Drive, Red Lion, PA 17356.
