Gene W. Peters

York- Gene W. Peters, 75 died Monday, June 16 2008 at Manor Care Health Service South. He was the husband of the late Betty Sue (Young) Peters. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Peters was born on January 6, 1933 in York, a son of the late Madeline I. Peters. He Retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant and served in both Korea and Vietnam. He was also a member of the Retired Enlisted Men's Association. Mr. Peters was employed as a computer technician with Honeywell for 22 years. He was previously employed as a communication technician with the United States Air Force for 24 years. Mr. Peters is survived by two sons: Gregory G. Peters of York and Jeffrey W. Peters of Wichita Kansas; four daughters: Tanya R. Peters and Michele S. Peters both of York, Julie A. Corey of Wichita Kansas, and Gina M. Kalberer of Bryant, Arkansas; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; one step-son: Steven E. McCarter of Lawton Oklahoma; two step-daughters: Rhonda Clark of Sterling Oklahoma and Conni Manning of Lawton Oklahoma one brother: Lester W. Peters of York; one sister: Jennie Lightner of Manchester. He is preceded in death by six brothers: James, Harold, Nelson, Harvey, Lloyd, and Vernon Peters.
