Gene S. Waltemyer

Red Lion- Gene S. Waltemyer, 93 of York Township, died on December 3, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle Memorial Hospital in York of natural causes. He was the loving husband of Eva A. (Godfrey) Waltemyer. He was born December 20, 1924, the son of the late Vernon and Areba (Stermer) Waltemyer. He retired from a life of farming at 90 years old. Along with his wife, Eva, he leaves a brother, James Waltemyer and his wife Mariam of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Waltemyer and his wife Dot. A viewing will be held Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 3-5 p.m. and Monday from 10:30-11 a.m. at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. His pastor, Paul Bentzel will be officiating at the service. A graveside service will follow at New Fairview Church of the Brethren in York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to York County SPCA 3159 N.
