Gene D. Miller

DOVER – Gene D. Miller, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of Carla Z. (Murdock) Miller with whom he celebrated 45 years of marriage on June 25, 2022.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Harmony Grove Community Church, 6390 Harmony Grove Road, Dover, PA 17315. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Private burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.

Born October 21, 1941 in N. Codorus Twp., a son of the late Lester H. and Romaine G. (Luckenbaugh) Miller, he was a 1960 graduate of Spring Grove Area High School. Mr. Miller retired after 30 years of service from Markey Builders. Following his retirement, he worked as a maintenance handyman at Paulus Orchard in Dillsburg. He was a member of West Manchester Twp. Farmers & Sportsman’s Assoc. and was an avid hunter. Gene was a US Army veteran of The Vietnam War and also served in the PA Army National Guard.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Miller is survived by two sons, Jared E. and wife Johanna Miller and Jamin E. and wife Bethany Miller both of Dover; a grandson, Sylvenn Miller; two brothers, Donald L. Miller and Harold L. Miller both of Spring Grove; and four sisters, Janet Zeigler of Spring Grove, Joyce Mummert and Carolyn Albright both of York, and Eloise Moul of Carlisle.
