Gary L. Krout

YORK- Gary L. Krout, 70, of West Manchester Township, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Sharon B. (Bernstein) Krout. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a visitation from 1-3 p.m. Certified Celebrant Jessica Smith will be officiating at the service. Burial will be private in Greenmount Cemetery in York. If you have a copy of a special photo of Gary, an empty photo album will be available for you to place it in for the family, upon arrival at the funeral home. Gary was born in York on January 3, 1948, the son of Charlotte R. (Hein) O’Brien of Rehoboth Beach, DE and of the late Kurvin A. Krout. He retired as the service director for Jack Giambalvo Motor Company in York. Gary was a member of York County Harley Davidson Owners Association (YCHDOA), Loyal Order of the Moose, VFW post 5265, Shiloh American Legion, and Hawk Gunning Club. He was a well known sprint car driver for 17 years. Gary leaves a son, Derek A. Krout of St. Petersburg, FL; siblings, Cindy Krout Frost, Debbie Krout, and Mike O’Brien, and many nieces and nephews.
