YORK - Gary L. Gable, 58, was killed in an automobile accident Monday, May 4, 2009. He was a loving and devoted father. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Living Word Community Church, 2530 Cape Horn Road, York, with his brother, the Rev. David C. Gable officiating. Viewings will be held 6-8:00 PM Friday at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and 9-10:00 Saturday at the church. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mr. Gable was born May 24, 1950 in York, a son of the late Clarence D. and Delores L. (Hoke) Gable. He was a 1968 graduate of Dover High School and received his three year Missions Degree from Lancaster Bible College. While in college, Gary played right wing on the school's soccer team and was voted the Most Valuable Player two of the three years. Gary was an employee of RGIS Inventory Specialists for 20+ years as a Team Leader. He was a driven, hardworking man who put the needs of others before his own. Gary loved the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, but most of all he loved his children. He enjoyed golfing, spending time with his children, and was known to have a great sense of humor. Gary was also nice to everyone he met and befriended many. Gary is survived by a daughter, Callie J. Gable of Hanover; a son, Stephen P. Gable of York; two brothers, David C. Gable and wife, Anne of N.H., and Timothy A. Gable and wife, Debbie of Dover; two sisters, Brenda J. Gable of N.M., and Lori A. Gable of York; four nieces, Ashley, Erin, Angela and Alexis; two nephews and Godson's, Jason and Jaron; two grandnieces; and two grandnephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Desiree J.
