Gary D. Stephenson

WELLSBURG, NY-Gary D. Stephenson, 68, of Wellsburg, NY, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 21, 2008. He was the loving husband of the late Clara (Roupp) Stephenson who passed in May of 1994. Gary was born on August 29, 1940 in Prospect, PA, son of the late Alfred and Nettie (Kummer) Stephenson. Gary worked as a therapy aid for the Elmira Psychiatric Center. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing. Gary also collected coins, knives, and swords. Gary is survived by his son Roy D. (Claire) Stephenson of Wellsburg, NY, his daughters Karen Stephenson and fianc矃arl Manoogian of Burlington, KY, Kay Roupp of Elmira, NY, his grandchildren Erin and Alfred Stephenson, and his companion Margaret Chaffee of Wellsburg, NY. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Clara, and his grandson Ryan Stephenson. Family and friends are welcome to call from 4:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. The funeral service to honor Gary's life will be held after the viewing at 6:00 PM on Sunday the 4th at the funeral home.
