Garry L. Wintermyer, Sr.

NEWBERRY TOWNSHIP- Garry L. Wintermyer, Sr., 66, of York Haven, died Friday December 14, 2007 at Harrisburg Hospital. He was the husband of Darlene E. (Troup) Wintermyer. The couple celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on April 28, 2007. A Celebration of Life Service will be 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Red Land Valley Brethren in Christ Church, 3555 Lewisberry Rd. in York Haven, with a viewing from 5-6:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be private in Emanuel Cemetery. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front Street in Lewisberry is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Wintermyer was born in Yocumtown on July 31, 1941, a son of Florence (Spangler) Wintermyer of Lewisberry and the late Charles L. Wintermyer. He retired from Keen Trucking in Harrisburg and was a member of Red Land Valley Brethren in Christ Church. He was an avid bowler and card player, and enjoyed camping, block shooting, attending football games with his children and grandchildren, supported Red Land Football, and was a Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Fan. Mr. Wintermyer leaves three sons: Gary L. Jr. of York Haven, Bradley L. of Dover, and Jeffrey L. of Dover, a daughter, Tracy L. Wintermyer-Evans of Mechanicsburg, five grandchildren: Cody, Kurtis, Elizabeth, Jade, and Carly, a brother, Rodney of Coral Springs, FL, two sisters: Patsy Drake of York Haven and Lindy Hess of Lewisberry, and nieces and nephews. A son, Curtis and a granddaughter, Hailey Evans had preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
