WINDSOR- Gale L. Kessler, 83, died on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Dallastown Nursing Center. He was the husband of Vivian M. (Miller) Kessler to whom he was married for 65 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born on April 2, 1933 in York, he was a son of the late Harry and Edith (Meckley) Kessler. He was a 1951 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Gale was a maintenance supervisor at Caterpillar, Inc. for over 30 years until his retirement. Mr. Kessler was a member of Yorkana Gun Club and the Caterpillar Retirees Group. Gale enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling in the motor home and boating. Along with his wife, Vivian, Gale is survived by three sons, Michael L. Kessler and wife, Karen of Red Lion, Steven C. Kessler and wife, Bonnie of Red Lion and Scott A. Kessler and companion, Jimmy Duckett of Rehoboth Beach, DE; two daughters, Kimberly A. Barnhart and husband, Randy of York and Michele L. Deitz and husband, Ronald of York; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Kay Senft and husband, Ron of York. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Kessler; and one sister, Arlene Hilbert. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity of your choice in Gale’s memory. The family of Mr. Kessler would like to thank the staff and nurses at Dallastown Nursing Center for their care and compassion during Gale’s illness.
