Lock Haven - G. Lucille Shearer, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 6, 2008, at the Lock Haven Hospital. She had been a patient in the Extended Care Unit since September and was lovingly treated by all there. She was born in Blanchard on January 8, 1920, daughter of the late Joseph and Emily (Gardner) Heverly. In her younger years, she worked as a clerk-sales associate for the former W.T. Grant Co. Lucille was a devout and active member of the Living Faith Free Methodist Church. She worked diligently in the fund raising drive to build the Church and even assisted with some of the carpentry. She was an avid bowler, loved to sew and knit, and loved spending time with her family, especially at family reunions. On Sept. 30, 1939, Lucille married Donald C. Shearer in Lock Haven. He preceded her in death in Sept. 2004. She was also preceded by a brother-Paul Heverly and a sister-Janice Kelly. Surviving are her daughters: Cheryl A. (Doyle "Buzz") Tressler and Randi J. (Jack) Cardamone, both of Mill Hall, 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother-Robert Heverly of South Carolina, a sister-June Nevins of Lock Haven, and numerous nieces and nephews who called her "Aunt Cil." A celebration of life service will be held at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd. Mill Hall, Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brian W. Billings and lay minister Doyle "Buzz" Tressler officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday evening. Interment will take place in Blanchard Baptist Cemetery.
