G. Jeanette (Thorpe) Beardslee

TROY- G. Jeanette (Thorpe) Beardslee, 89, of Armenia Mountain, PA passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Robert Packer Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Edward H. Beardslee who passed away on March 25, 1998. The couple was married happily for 49 years. Family and friends are welcome to call from 12:00-1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Olde Covert Church on the Fallbrook Road on Armenia Mountain, PA. The memorial service to honor Jeanette’s life will be held at 1:00 PM at the church with Rev. Ken Marple officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of Jeanette’s family. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements. Jeanette was born on January 17, 1923 in Sylvania, PA, daughter of the late Fred and Ruby (Ripley) Thorpe. She retired from Westinghouse where she worked on the assembly line and for several years served on the Board of Elections for Armenia Township. In her younger years Jeanette enjoyed hunting and fishing. She also enjoyed cross word puzzles, crafts, and sewing. Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her family and always looked forward to the family get-togethers. Jeanette is survived by her children: Donna Best and companion Ron Wandell of Armenia Mountain, PA, Connie (Doug) Harkness of Kansas City, KS, and Dale (Brenda) Beardslee of Troy, PA, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, her sister Thelma (Bob) Baker of Lawrenceville, PA, and several nieces and nephews. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed, two brothers and two sisters.
