Frieda E. (Block) Welak

Exeter—Frieda E. (Block) Welak, 95, died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at her residence in Exeter Township. She was the wife of the late Georg E. Welak. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with the Rev. Richard Benner, officiating. A viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in St. Paul's (Wolf's) Union Cemetery. Mrs. Welak was born September 12, 1912 in Buchholz, Germany, a daughter of the late Hermann A.F. and Pauline E. (H�fuss) Block. She was a dedicated homemaker and devoted mother. Mrs. Welak is survived by one daughter, Edda B. Manley of Exeter, one son, Uwe G. Welak of Lady Lake, Fla., nine grandchildren, Eric and Scott Shellhamer, Monica Rodriguez, Robert Bloss, Meloni Fischer, and Brian, Frank, Uwe, and J�Welak, 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Immo G. Welak and two sisters, Emma Block and Anni Spaleck.
