ELIZABETHTOWN - Freeda K. (Keiser) Platt, 94, formerly of West Milton, died Friday, June 28, 2013 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. She was born on March 30, 1919 in West Milton and was the daughter of the late James Luther and Maude (Harbeson) Keiser. Freeda was a graduate of the Milton High School and the Thompson Business School, Harrisburg. She married Leroy R. Platt on September 4, 1963 and they celebrated 48 years of marriage together until his death on May 2, 2012. She worked for the Commonwealth of PA as a Secretary and Office Manager in Harrisburg, the Farm Credit Administration, Lewisburg and Bucknell University, Lewisburg. Freeda was a past member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Danville, IL and a current member of Sell Memorial Chapel, Elizabethtown. She was a member of Milton Chapter #77, Order of Eastern Star, the Woman’s Club of Danville, IL, Vermilion County Home & Community Education, Bethel Lutheran Church Women and the United Commercial Travelers Council #272. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, and playing the organ at St. John’s church. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; James M. and Donna Platt of York, one daughter Janice L. Platt of Cincinnati, OH, two grandchildren; Bryan J. Platt of Gaithersburg, MD and Andrew J. Platt of York, four great grandchildren; Grace E. and Cameron P. Platt both of Gaithersburg, MD and Olivia R. and Colin J. Platt both of York and two nephews; George Zeyn of West Milton and James Zeyn of Allenwood. In addition to her parents, Freeda was preceded in death by her first husband Charles DeShields, her second husband Leroy Platt and a half sister Charity Zeyn. A public viewing will be held 10:00a.m. - 11:00a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton PA 17847 with an Eastern Star service at 10:45 a.m. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Twin Churches Cemetery, Lewisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Bethel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 901 West Fairchild, Danville IL 61832.
