YORK Frederick K. Schuhly, Sr., 81, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Peggy V. (Burgess) Schuhly to whom he was married for 50 years on July 10, 2010. A celebration of life service will be 12 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with the Reverend Fred Nowell officiating. A visitation will be from 11 AM 12 PM at the funeral home. A flag folding ceremony will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard prior to the service. Mr. Schuhly was born March 29, 1929 in Baltimore, MD, the only child of Karl F. and Emma (Nagel) Schuhly. He worked as a salesman for Regal Shoes for 30 years until his retirement. Mr. Schuhly was a member of the York Church of Christ. He was also a member of the VFW in Bel Air, MD post # 11377 and the Longstown Village Harmonaires. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends at Longstown Villiage. Mr. Schuhly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Along with his wife Peggy, Mr. Schuhly is survived by one son, Frederick K. Schuhly, Jr. of Red Lion; one daughter, Deborah M. Wojcik and husband Thomas of Baldwin, Md.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to a charity of your choice.
