Frederick D. Fleming, 70, of Millerton, PA, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2007 in the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. He is the husband of Catherine M. (Thompson) Fleming. The couple married on October 26, 1958 and had 49 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, December 13, 2007 and again from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Fred's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 14th at the funeral home with Pastor Jennifer Wolf of the Jackson Center Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Fred was born on October 21, 1937 in Sayre, PA. He was son of the late Lawrence E. and Beatrice R. (Dexter) Fleming. Fred was a Troy High School graduate, class of 1956. After high school he joined the U.S. Army, serving from 1961-1963. Fred worked for Ward La France and American La France, both in Elmira, NY, but is best known in Millerton as the owner/operator of Fleming's Laundry Mat. He attended Jackson Center Methodist Church with his wife Catherine. Fred is survived by his wife Catherine of Millerton, his faithful pets and companions: Sandy and Sparkie, his brothers: Elwin E. Fleming of Granville Summit, PA, Clifford (Patricia) Fleming, also of Granville Summit, Charles (Sandra) Fleming of Whitehall, PA, his sister Kathryn Seeley of Canton, PA, his nieces and nephews: David Fleming, Diane Rockwell, Mark Fleming, Jeffery Fleming, Greg Fleming, Brett Fleming, Charlie Fleming, Brian Seeley, and Monica Heffner. His parents and his brother William Fleming preceded Fred in death. Contributions may be made in Fred's memory to the Big Elm Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 249 Millerton, PA 16936.
