Fred W. Hackenberg

LOCK HAVEN - Fred W. Hackenberg, 65 of Lock Haven passed away Saturday, Sept., 11, 2010 at Susque-View with his family by his side. He was born November 21, 1944 in Salona a son of the late Sylvester and Patricia (Bower) Hackenberg. Fred worked at Jersey Shore Steel. He was an avid bingo player and was a member of the American Legion, Son's of Italy, Moose, and the VFW all of Lock Haven. He was a member of the Castanea Fire Company and the Lock Haven men's, mixed and 9 ball pool leagues. Surviving are one son; Thomas (Tina) Hackenberg of Renovo three daughters; Christine (Lee) Engle, Patricia Hockenberry and Tina (Cliff) Short all of Williamsport. Sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Four brothers; Arlyn (Marjie) Hackenberg and Glen (Carol) Hackenberg both of Avis, Jerry (Susan) Hackenberg of Jersey Shore and Charles (Carol) Hackenberg of Blanchard also one sister Ada Young of Lock Haven. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Captain David Stout officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral chapel on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Interment will be at Hayes-Fearon Cemetery, Beech Creek.
