Frank Miosi, Sr.

HUGHESVILLE - Frank Miosi, Sr., 91, died on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Manor Care South, Williamsport. Frank was born on October 7, 1920 in Williamsport and was the son of the late Alberto and Marie (Reforgiata) Miosi. On January 31, 1944, he married the late Corinne R. (Mainville) and celebrated 58 years as husband and wife before her death on May 22, 2002. Frank was an employee of the Bureau of Forest and Waters and retired on June 26, 1986. He was a PFC of the 320th Army Air Forces Service Squadron serving during WWII. He was a member of Mater Dolorosa Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was very proud of serving in the Army. Frank is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Pauline and Roy Colley of Hughesville, four grandsons; Eric Colley of Centre Hall, Alan Colley and his wife Char of Hughesville, Michael Miosi and his wife Christina of Trout Run and Corey Maneval and his wife Sherry of Picture Rocks, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons; Frank Miosi, Jr. in 1975 and Albert Miosi in 1988, four brothers; Louie, Tom, Sam and Joe and two sisters; Rose Maietta and Mary Creswell. There will be a gathering of friends and family from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Allen and Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport with the memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Father Dave Bechtel will officiate the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
