Frank A. Wagner, Jr.

WATSONTOWN - Frank A. Wagner, Jr., 87, died Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. He was born on April 23, 1929 in Monessen and was the son of the late Frank A and Anna (Aitken) Wagner, Sr. Frank served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1951 through 1953 during the Korean War. On July 4, 1958 Frank married the late Mable (Boyles) who preceded him in death in 1984. On September 14, 1985 Frank married the late Lois I. (Miller-Ranck) who preceded him in death on September 9, 2006. Frank graduated from Rostraver Township High School, Bell Vernon Class of 1948 and then went on and attended Williamsport Technical School where he received his training in diesel mechanics. After school Frank worked for Branch Trucking of Watsontown and Bieber Contracting of New Columbia. Frank was a member of the Leroy O. Buck Post #7863 V.F.W. of Duboistown and the International Teamsters Retiree Department. Frank enjoyed hunting, gardening, archery, walking and history. Frank was very involved with the American Red Cross both as a volunteer and a donor. Frank is survived by three step-sons and their wives; John and Linda Huyck of Williamsport, Steven and Kim Ranck of Lewisburg and Chris and Melissa Curry-Ranck of Columbus, N.J., five step grandchildren; Kimberly Huyck, Benjamin and Tiffany Ranck, Jessica Ranck, William Ranck and Connor Ranck, four step great grandchildren, one step great great grandchild, two sisters and one brother-in-law; Margaret Hillman of Roanoke, VA and Linda L. and Bill Elkin of Bel Air, MD, one sister-in-law; Phillis Dyer of Winfield and one brother-in-law and his wife; G. Wayne and Roxanne Miller of Lewisburg. In addition to his parents, first and second wives, Frank is preceded in death by one step son; Roger W. Ranck, one brother; Thomas W. Wagner and one sister; Phyllis A. Overand. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lycoming S.P.C.A., 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701 Services for Frank will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
