Francis J. Fran" Reid

WILLIAMSPORT - Francis J. "Fran" Reid, 77, died on Monday, June 29, 2009 at Sycamore Manor, Williamsport. Francis was born on September 3, 1931 in Williamsport and was the son of the late Frank and Viola Reid. He was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce serving during the Korean War. On September 2, 1984, he married the former Anna E. (Macdonald), who survives and celebrated 25 years of marriage. He was a former employee of Liton Industries and had retired after 25 years service as a bartender at the Bridge Tavern. He had attended the Trinity Gospel Church, was a life member of the VFW #7863 and enjoyed golfing and bowling. In addition to his wife, Anna, he is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law; Francis J. and Dottie Reid, Jr. of Baldwinsville, NY and Ronald Reid of Williamsport, one daughter and son-in-law; Denise and Andrew Cassale of Williamsport, three grandchildren; Shawn Reid, Michael Reid and Megan Reid, one sister and brother-in-law; Barbara and Eugene Barnes of Williamsport, one step daughter and her husband; Janice and Patrick Hanrahan of Deltona, FL, five step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren. In keeping with Francis' wishes, there will be no public services. Arrangements are being handled by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
