LOGANVILLE- Francis H. Miller, 82, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital. He was the loving husband of 60 years to Thelma R. (Attig) Miller. A funeral tribute service will be at 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Salem United Church of Christ, 24 Franklin St., Jacobus, PA 17407 with his pastor, The Rev. Fred A. Walthour officiating. A viewing will be from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Jacobus. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 25 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is assisting with the arrangements. Mr. Miller was born on October 4, 1926 in Loganville, a son of the late Guy W. and Ada S. (Butcher) Miller. He married Thelma Attig on February 21, 1948. His first employer was Graybill's, Inc. Mr. Miller moved on to Tristate Electrical Supply, and retired after 52 years with Hagemeyer North America. Mr. Miller was a life member at Salem U.C.C., Jacobus where he was a former president and treasurer of the church consistory. He was a member with the Red Lion American Legion, AARP, and the Tax Collectors Association of York Co. in 1958. Most notably, Mr. Miller was the 1982 president of the York Co. Firefighters Association and a past president of Loganville Fire Co. for 20 years. He is a US Army veteran and served during WWII. Surviving is a daughter, Linda S. Kashner and her husband, Mervin A. of York; a grandson, Jason A. Kashner and his wife Jennifer A. of Loganville; a great granddaughter, Morgan B. Kashner; a brother, William Miller and his wife, Karen of Dallastown; and a sister-in-law, Anna Miller of Loganville. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death is a brother, Burnell Miller. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem U.C.C., 24 Franklin St., Jacobus, PA 17407 or www.Parkinson.org.
