Francis H. Eckard

WILLIAMSPORT - Francis H. Eckard, 67, died on Friday, March 09, 2007 at the Williamsport Hospital. He was the loving husband of Betty Jane (Baney) Eckard to who he was married to for 51 years. Francis was born on August 15, 1939 in Cogan Station, a son of the late John and Irene (Butler) Eckard. He had retired from the Williamsport Auto Sales as a mechanic after 18 years service. In his early years, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and was an avid hunter. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved his cat, dog and bird. In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by one son; John J. Eckard and his wife Renee of Williamsport, two daughters; Cathy A. Stutzman and her husband Joseph and Tina M. Eckard and her husband Rick, all of Williamsport, eight grandchildren; Joey, Jimmy, Tanya, Tammy, Dustin, Jason, Robert and Blair, two great grandchildren; Brok and Raegan and four sisters; Ester Bower and her husband Bob of Williamsport, Mary Pearsall of Montoursville, Dorothy Lee and her husband Bill of Loyalsock and Betty Calvert and her husband John of Syracuse, NY. He will be sadly missed by his numerous friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Robert and Sam. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the Blooming Grove Dunkard Church, Dunkard Church Road, Hepburn Township, with the Rev. David K. Fishel officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Francis' memory to the Rehab Center, C/O Williamsport Hospital, 777 Rural Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701. Arrangements are by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport.
