POTTSVILLE- Francis E. Tyson, 80, of Pottsville passed away Monday at his residence. Born in Pottsville on January 20, 1932, he was a son of the late Elwood and Elizabeth Wilson Tyson. He was a 1950 graduate of Pottsville High School. He served his country in the National Guard. He retired from Lehigh Valley Dairy, Schuylkill Haven. Francis was a member of Saint Patrick’s Church where he attended Mass daily and prepared the altar for the priests, when he was healthy. He was a member of Six County Firefighters Association, member of the Teamsters, Life member of Yorkville Fire Company and a social member of the Good Will Hose Co, both of Pottsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Haldeman Tyson, who passed away August 25, 2006; her sister, Gretta Tyson; her brother, Maurice Tyson. Francis is survived by his daughter Mary Ellen Aderhold, wife of Archie, of Pottsville; her three sons, Michael, husband of Elizabeth, of Pottsville, Kevin, husband of Karen, of Lancaster andBrian Tyson, husband of Cindy, of Deer Lake; his seven grandchildren, Brenda Graham, wife of Andrew, Jamie Miller, wife of Brad, Johnathon Aderhold, Jeffrey Aderhold, Brian Tyson, Casey Tyson and Ashley Tyson; his four great grandchildren, Jaysen and Bryce Graham and Caitlin and Aidan Miller; his brother, Stanley “Skip” Tyson; his five sisters, Rose Marie Campbell, wife of Ian, of Pottsville, Rita May Roos, of Pottsville, Elizabeth Zeckman, wife of Paul, of Pine Grove, Catherine Hoptak, of Pottsville and Bernadette Drey, wife of Ronald, of Schuylkill Haven; many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 12:00 Noon at Saint Patrick’s Church, 4th and Mahantongo Streets, Pottsville. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the church. Private interment will be held in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 16 North 4th Street, Minersville, PA 17954, or Pottsville/ Schuylkill Haven Area EMS, 320 North 9th Street, Pottsville, PA 17901.
