Francis E. Fran" Richter

WELLSBORO- Francis E. "Fran" Richter, 75, of Columbia Crossroads, PA, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Green Home in Wellsboro, PA. He was the husband of the late Nancy (Judson) Richter who passed away on June 24, 2006. The couple married in 1962 and had 43 years together. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 1:00-2:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Fran's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 15th at the funeral home. Fran was born on September 22, 1934 in Stamford, Connecticut, son of the late Harry and Regina (Nurney) Richter. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Fran apprenticed as a tool and dye maker and worked as a machinist, was a model maker in the shop, and later became the proprietor of Judson's County Store. He was Catholic by faith and enjoyed Classical Music. Fran is survived by his son Edward J. (Jodi) Richter of Wellsboro, PA, his daughter Carole (Stephen) Suarez of Syracuse, NY, his grandchildren: Scott, Brian, and Anna Suarez, and Eric Richter, five siblings, and several nieces and nephews. Fran was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy, and one brother.
