Frances Zaloga

Dupont-Frances Zaloga, 89, formerly of Scranton, passed away Thursday morning in Mercy Hospital, Scranton. She was married to Charles Zaloga for 39 years. Born in Scranton, April 2, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Chlebowska) Dana, and attended West Scranton High School. Prior to retiring in 1981, she was employed by Goodmanor Manufacturing. She was a member of Ss Peter and Paul Church, Scranton. While living at Jackson Heights Senior Center she volunteered at the senior lunch center. She loved playing bingo and was an avid reader. She was a Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburg Steelers fan. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her grandson William; granddaughters, Debbie and Donna, brothers, John, Henry and Mike; and sister, Martha. Surviving are her daughter, Rita Zang, Dupont, with whom she resided; sons, Charles and his wife Berit, Glendale, AZ; William and his wife Nancy, Austin, TX; 8 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A private mass will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Scranton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
