YORK - Frances Irene (Litsinger) Schroeder, 86, died Sunday afternoon, November 16, 2008 at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of James L. Schroeder, Jr. who died October 20, 2006. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2008 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Diane G. Wenthe. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Schroeder was born February 7, 1922, in York. She was the daughter of the late George Keefer and Edith Angela (Meals) Litsinger. She was a 1940 graduate of William Penn Senior High and was a longtime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and the Half Century Fellowship. She was a charter member of Bethel #1, Job's Daughters; the White Rose Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star; Sychar Shrine #36; Ameranth; was a Daughter of the Nile; and served as a Past President of Demolay Mothers. Mrs. Schroeder leaves two sons, James L. Schroeder, III and wife, Joyce of Palmyra, and George K. Schroeder of Salt Lake City, UT; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Bulk of York. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edmund Litsinger and two sisters, Dorothy Litsinger and Daisy Johnson. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W.
