Frances (Grattison) Chatman

HANOVER TOWNSHIP-Frances Chatman, 97, formerly of Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday, August 16, 2007, in Manor Care, Hampton House, Hanover Township. Born in Somerville, NJ on April 28, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Annie Bertha Condit Grattison. She was raised by William Price. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Chatman, who died in 1953; sisters Elnora Willis and Jeanette Williams; brother Amos J. Grattison. Surviving is her son, Jason "Sonny" Chandler, Wilkes-Barre; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister Elizabeth Corum, Pottstown; a host of nieces and nephews. Homegoing services will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Mrs. Chatman's grandson, the Reverend Anthony Vieney, Associate Minister at Bethel A.M.E. Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.
