POTTSVILLE - Frances C. Misstishin, 83, of Pottsville died Friday night at her home. Born in Pottsville on June 26, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Richard S. and Mary E. Sparks Stapleton. She was a 1946 graduate of Pottsville High School. On June 26 1951 she married Edward Misstishin, who survives. Until retiring she was a buyer for Boscov’s. Prior to that, she worked as a buyer for Pomeroy’s in Pottsville and also managed the Maternities and Ladies Botique, Pottsville. She was a member of Saint Patrick’s. She was a member of the American Hose, the American Hose Ladies Auxiliary, where she was a past president. In addition to her husband Edward of 61 years, she is survived by: a son, James E. Misstishin Sr and his companion Susan A. Smith, Pottsville; three grandchildren, James, Gerald and Richard Misstishin; a great granddaughter Julie Misstishin; a brother in law, Jackie Misstishin; sister in law Janice Misstishin; nieces and nephews; two granddogs, Reilly and Remi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Stapleton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:45 AM from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. The Rev. William Glosser will officiate. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Hose Company, 323 W. Norwegian St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
