Frances B. (Bernabeo) Strauss

NORTHUMBERLAND - Frances B. (Bernabeo) Strauss, 100, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Nottingham Village, Northumberland. She was born in Queens, NY on June 27, 1913 and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary (Scaramozza) Bernabeo. Frances married the late Walter Strauss on September 4, 1949 and they celebrated 28 years of marriage together until his death on November 8, 1977. She worked for Con Edison of New York for 56 years where she was the director of Human Resources, retiring finally at age 72. Frances enjoyed playing cards, traveling to new places and frequenting night clubs in Harlem, NY in her younger days. Frances is survived by one nephew, Paul Bernabeo and husband David Cohen of West Palm Beach, FL, and two nieces, Linda Korb and husband Elliott of Milton and Cathy Stoddart and husband Alfred of Long Beach CA, along with numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by one brother; Adam Bernabeo. At the request of Frances, all services are to be held privately at the convenience of the family.
