TROY-Floyd H. Haight, 92, of Troy, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Troy Community Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marceil (Kendall) Haight who passed away in 1999. Family and friends are welcome to call from 2:00-4:00 PM on Monday, April 21, 2008 at Alpron Park, Route 14, Troy, PA. A memorial service to honor Floyd's life will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday April 21st at the park with Rev. Garry Zuber, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Troy, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Cemetery. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements. Floyd was born on April 18, 1915 near Mountain Lake, PA. He was the son of the late Sewart M. and Ethel (Hamilton) Haight. Floyd graduated from Troy High School, class of 1933. In his earlier days, Floyd worked for F.P. and Marshall Case in their building business, but in his latter years he worked for Kendall Appliance, repairing appliances for folks in and around Troy. He was a member of the Alpron Park Association for over 60 years; he was a past president and board member of the association. On any given day he could be found at the park, planting, weeding, and doing repairs. Floyd was also a member of the Wheel Inn and the Hamilton Club. Floyd is survived by his sons James (Beatrice) Haight, Sr. of Waxhaw, NC and Richard (Rose) Haight of Jacksonville, FL, his daughter Lois (Ron) Seymour of Gillett, PA, 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, his brother Seward "Mike" Haight, Jr. of Boston, MA, his sisters Anna (Robert) Perry of Sayre, PA, and Doris Morris of Wellsburg, NY, along with several nieces and nephews. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marceil, and his son Daniel Haight, who passed away in 2000.
