Florence Toots (Wells) Clark

SYLVANIA- Florence "Toots" (Wells) Clark, 74, of Sylvania, PA, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Family and friends are welcome to call from 12:00-1:00 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Sylvania Church of Christ, Route 6 in Sylvania, PA. The funeral service to honor Toots' life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the church with Pastor George Ogden officiating. Burial will follow the service in Glenwood Cemetery. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street Troy, PA, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Toots was born on November 19, 1934 in Canton, PA, daughter of the late Herbert Wells and the late Helen (Smith) Kanehisa. Toots was a 1952 Troy High School graduate and was a well-known waitress and bartender in several establishments in the Troy and Canton areas for many years. She was a 62-year member of the First Baptist Church of Troy, and was a member of the Sylvania Church of Christ. Toots was a charter member of the Tioga Fire Company Woman's Auxiliary and was a member of Women of the Moose in Canton. She enjoyed NASCAR, game shows, crossword puzzles, bowling, and crocheting. Toots is survived by her sons Gregory (Carol) Button of Tioga, PA, and Michael (Karline) Clark of Box Elder, SD, her daughter Catherine (Dan Worden) Seelye of Troy, PA, her grandchildren: Calvin (Jessica Knapp) Button of Elkland, PA, Tyler (Carrie Knapp) Button of Tioga, PA, Christopher Schrader of South Carolina, Travis, Zachary, and Acadia Clark of Box Elder, SD, Michelle and Jeffrey Seelye of Troy, PA, her great grandson Samuel, her uncle Freeman "Bob" Smith of Carmichael, CA, her step-father Richard Kanehisa of Honolulu, HI, and special friends George and Rita Ogden, Betty Boyles, Peg Trela, all of Sylvania. Toots was preceded in death by her parents; Herbert Wells who passed away in 2004 and the late Helen (Smith) Kanehisa who passed away in 1978, her best friend June Gardener who passed away in 2003, and an infant sister who passed away in 1944.
