Florence R. (Roach) Gaulden

WILKES-BARRE-Florence R. Gaulden, 88, of Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, in Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre. Born on October 11, 1919 in British Guiana, South America, she was the daughter of the late Almon and Kathleen Headecker Roach. She was a graduate of Meyers High School, Class of 1937. Mrs. Gaulden lived in New York City for 37 years. Upon retiring from Citibank, she returned to the Wyoming Valley to live. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church, South Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, where she was a former member of the Women's Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; brothers Roland, Wesley, Edgar and Milton Roach; sisters Kathleen Anderson and Maude Kusnierz. Surviving are her son, Roger M.; and sister, Helen Church. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township, with the Reverend Doctor Robert M. Zanicky officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Montrose Bible Conference, 5 Locust St., Montrose, PA 18801. Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, is in charge of arrangements.
