LOCK HAVEN - Florence R. [Long] Brown, 89, was born in Mill Hall, the youngest of five children born to John and Bertha Price Long. Frank Brown who preceded her in death. She passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. Florence, a self-taught landscape artist, was always interested in art and began sketching and painting at an early age. Through the years people have admired her paintings. She also enjoyed a multitude of various crafts. Another of her hobbies was making dollhouse furniture. She had received a dollhouse for Christmas. It was in the rough but she painted and decorated it and began making furniture, filling it with many unique items. After her husband died in 1977, Florence continued to live in their home until 2004 when she moved to Maryland to live with her daughter and son-in-law. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two grandchildren, Brenda K. Yarrison and Brian T. Yarrison and his wife Becky. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
