Florence M. (Lehr) Zumbrum

RED LION- Florence M. (Lehr) Zumbrum, 90, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at her residence in Windsor Township. She was the wife to the late Eugene N. Zumbrum to whom she was married for 61 years. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 27, 2008 at Quickel Lutheran Church, 60 Canal Rd. Ext., York, with her pastor Reverend John B. Ferra Jr. officiating. Viewings will be held from 4-6:00 PM Sunday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion and 1-2:00 PM Monday at the church. Burial will be in Quickel's Cemetery. Mrs. Zumbrum was born October 21, 1918 in East Manchester Township, a daughter to the late Daniel E. and Emma Kate (Gross) Lehr. She was a 1935 graduate of Manchester High School. She was an over-locker operator for RoAnna Girl in Hellam and previously worked as a delivery driver at York Saw Works. In addition to being a life member of Quickel Lutheran Church, Mrs. Zumbrum was also member of the Pennsylvania Dutch Heritage Society and enjoyed music, flowers, gardening, and travel. Mrs. Zumbrum is survived by two daughters, Jean M. and husband William L. Rice of York and Susan J. Zumbrum of Red Lion; two grandchildren, Ashley N. and Michael W. Rice; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Luther, Paul, and Jesse Lehr; and three sisters, Grace Boeckel, Helen Hilker, and Louella Buser.
