Florence L. Kuss

Florence L. Kuss Florence Louise (Starr) Kuss, 86, of Pottsville died Saturday at Luther Ridge at Seiders Hill, Pottsville. Born in Ashland January 10, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John W., and Clara E. (Batdorf) Starr. She was a 1938 graduate of Ashland High School. She was a bookkeeper for the Electolux Corp. and the War Department. Mrs. Kuss was a member of the Lighthouse Church Orwigsburg, PA, American Bible Society, Christian Broadcasting Network, 700 Club; Habitat for Humanity, a past president of the Pottsville Garden Club, a former officer of the Pottsville YWCA, a past-president of the Centre Street PTA, and the Hillside SPCA. Her husband Francis J. Kuss precedes her in death. Surviving is a daughter Karen Johnson, wife of Robert Peca, Columbia, MD and a son Robert, husband of Nancy Kuss Gwynedd, PA; two grandsons Benjamin, husband of Sisc Johnson, Woodbridge, VA and David, husband of Samantha Johnson, Chester, VA; three great-grandchild, Christina Johnson, Tyler Johnson, and Nickolas Johnson, a sister Miriam Smith, Rougemont, N.C., nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., the Rev Mark Hochgretel. Interment will be at the Sunnyside Cemetery, Lavelle, PA. The family would prefer remembrances to be made to The Lighthouse Church, Route 61, Orwigsburg, PA 17961.
