Florence G. Hamilton

POTTSVILLE- Florence G. Hamilton, 100, resident of Providence Place, Pottsville, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday at Providence Place. Born Saint Clair on February 26, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Jane Jones Geiger. She attended Saint Clair schools. Florence was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Pottsville. She served as the treasurer of the church for 25 years and was a member of the church's craft group. She was a member of the South Schuylkill Garden Club and the Orwigsburg senior citizens. In 2010 she received an award for being an avid walker from Schuylkill on the Move. She was an avid bingo and blackjack player. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hamilton, who passed away in November 1967; her daughter, Betty Jane Hamilton; her three brothers, Harold, Thomas and Robert Geiger; her four sisters, Anna Goodhead, Ida Becker, Jeanette Rodenbach and Doris Link. She was the last member of her immediate family. Florence is survived by her son, Edward Hamilton, of Easton; her three grandchildren, Barry Hamilton, of Florida, Craig Hamilton, of Kentucky and Nedra Hamilton, of Saylorsburg, PA; her great granddaughter, Olivia Hamilton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 1:00 at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, 6th & West Market Streets, Pottsville. Pastor Jeff Colarossi will officiate. Friends may call on Friday from 12:00 Noon until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville.
