Faye C. (Ruby) Keeports

YORK - Faye C. (Ruby) Keeports, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Manor Care Health Services South in York. She was the wife of the late Nolan L. Keeports to whom she was married for 52 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 10 AM at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with The Reverend Chris Starr and The Reverend Edward Wible officiating. Viewings will be held Monday, June 23 from 6-8 PM and Tuesday from 9-10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery. Born October 1, 1927 in Lower Windsor Township, Faye was a daughter of the late Chester A. and Vertie (Leiphart) Ruby. In addition to being a wife, mother and homemaker, she held various jobs including working in a sewing factory, and several local cigar factories. She also worked at Urey's Restaurant and Catering. Mrs. Keeports attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church and also Chanceford Alliance Church. She was also a member of the Women’s Group at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Faye enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach. She also loved reading, cooking and baking cakes and pies. She will be remembered by her walnut cake made at holidays. Mrs. Keeports is survived by three sons, Harold E. Keeports and his wife Ellen of York, Larry L. Keeports and his wife Esther of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Donald L. Keeports and his wife Linda of Red Lion; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Franklin Ruby; two step brothers, Glen Ruby of Alabama and Donald Ruby of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and a sister, George Ruby, Ned Ruby and Rietta Kopp. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
