TROY - Faith E. (Shell) Wittig, 68, formerly of Troy, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Cedar Haven Nursing Home in Lebanon, PA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church, Berwick Turnpike, East Smithfield. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 1093 West Main Street, Troy is in charge of arrangements. Born May 1, 1943 in Waverly, NY; a daughter of the late George M. and Violet M. (Overacker) Shell, she graduated from Troy High School in 1961. Mrs. Wittig was a member of Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church in East Smithfield where she had actively volunteered, held fundraisers, and served refreshments during vacation Bible school. She enjoyed quilting, taking care of the ill, participating on mystery rides with the Church, and being around and riding horses in her younger years. Mrs. Wittig is survived by three sons, Douglas M. Wittig of Rebuck, PA, Tracy A. Wittig of Elimsport, PA, and Daniel H. Wittig of LaPlata, MD; two granddaughters, Yvonne and Jessica Wittig; and two sisters, Sherri Sinclair of Wellsboro and Sue Vanderpool of Paxinos, PA. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Alice Shell. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church, PO Box 10, East Smithfield, PA 18817 or to a favorite charity.
