YORK- Evelyn R. (Holtzapple) Bowser, 95, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Kenneth A. Bowser. The couple were married 57 years before Kenneth's passing on February 3, 2000. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Trinity Road, York, with her Pastor, The Reverend Paul Gausmann officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service at church. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Wolf’s Union Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born August 3, 1921 in Jackson Township, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Margie I. (Zinn) Holtzapple. She worked as a supervisor for more than 25 years at Dentsply International. Evelyn was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, and a member of the 25 year club of Dentsply International. She was also a member of the Connections Club at Country Meadows. She loved playing games and was an avid card player. Mrs. Bowser is survived by a daughter, Sheryl A. Sellers and her husband Karl of Pen Argyl; three grandchildren, Kelly S. Heffelfinger and her husband Reginald, Kyle S. Sellers and his wife Barbara, and Kerri S. Smith and her husband David; six great grandchildren, Brian Buchman and his wife Nicole, Michael Buchman, Sean Sellers, Ethan Sellers, Ryan Smith, and Bennett Smith; a brother, Glenn Holtzapple of York; and three sisters-in-law, Letha Holtzapple of York, Loretta Royer of Mechanicsburg, and Ruthanna Bowser of York, and also many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Holtzapple and a sister-in-law, Nancy Holtzapple Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 250 Trinity Road, York, PA 17404.
