Evelyn M. (Ruth) Saylor

MOUNT WOLF – Evelyn Maxine Saylor, 72, went to rest with the Lord on Tuesday November 24, 2015 at York Hospital. She was born in Hellam to the late Charles and Irene (Reisinger) Ruth. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Terry L. “Jake” Saylor, Sr. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Rev. Brendan Hock, pastor of Chapel Church officiating. Viewings will be held from 1-3:00 PM Friday and 1-2:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cross Roads U.M. Cemetery. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and baking for her family. A born nurturer, she left high school to care for her ailing mother until her passing. Later in life she would earn her diploma. She and her husband Terry Saylor Sr. were the sole proprietors of Saylor’s Dairy Farm until 1995. She then worked at Kountry Kids Daycare in York where she worked as the infant caretaker. Evelyn also enjoyed listening to country music and taking daytrips with her siblings. Evelyn is survived by her brothers, Richard Ruth and Preston Ruth; and her sister, Janet Keller. Additionally she is survived by her six children, Terry Saylor Jr. of Mount Wolf, Dale Saylor of York, Linda Saylor of Mount Wolf, Loretta Saylor of Mount Wolf, Ella Fritz of York, and Thomas Saylor of Hellam; and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the York County 4-H, 112 Pleasant Acres Road, York, PA 17402 or to Olivia’s House, 830 S. George Street, York, PA 17403.
