Evelyn M. (Arnold) Markey

Red Lion — Evelyn M. (Arnold) Markey, 91, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late John A. Markey. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 AM, Friday, September 28, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Pastor Abby Keiser officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday and from 9-10 AM, Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born July 10, 1921 in Chanceford Township, she was a daughter of the late Curvin and Aggie (Olewiler) Arnold. She was employed with the Red Lion American Legion where she worked as a cook for 18 years and was also a member of the Legion’s Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Markey is survived by three sons, John A. Markey Jr., of York, Jeffrey A. Markey of Red Lion and Jack A. Markey of Terrell, TX; three daughters, Judy A. Lecrone and husband, Brad of York, Janis A. Markey of Red Lion and Jean A. Markey of Dallastown; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Tyson of York and Betty Kauffman of York and several nieces and nephews.
