Evelyn L. Chronister

YORK--Evelyn L. “Evie” Chronister, 89, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. A Celebration of Life Tribute will be 1PM, Monday January 4, 2021 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd, York. Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry M. Dentler of Bermudian Church of the Brethren—East Berlin. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born August 4, 1931 in York, she was a daughter of the late George S. and Evelyn (Moreland) Chronister. An avid gardener and crossword puzzle fanatic, she also totally loved music. Mrs. Chronister is survived by one son, David Knokey and his wife, Clare Oliver of East Berlin; two sisters, Jean McGuigan of Hanover and Ruth Holcomb of York; two brothers, Richard Chronister of York and Ron Chronister of Sacramento and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Chronister and four sisters, Marian, Dory, Connie and Ginny. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army, 50 E.
