YORK- Evelyn Irene (Thomas) Arnold, 97, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Rest Haven in York. She was the wife of the late Henry L. Arnold, Sr. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Her pastor, The Reverend Edward Wible will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Shenberger Chapel Cemetery in New Bridgeville. Mrs. Arnold was born in Lower Windsor Township on January 19, 1916, the daughter of the late Oscar J. and Naomi E. (Dellinger) Thomas. She retired in 1980 from Pleasant Acres Nursing Home where she worked in the Occupational Therapy Department. Prior to that, she had worked for Ivan Frey Cigar Company in New Bridgeville. Mrs. Arnold was a member of Chanceford Alliance Church, where she was active in the Sunday school and sang on the choir. She was also a member of AARP. Mrs. Arnold leaves a son, Henry Arnold, Jr. and his wife Delores of Brogue; four daughters, Joelene Wolfe and her husband Ronald, Gloria Miller of York, Linda Immel and her husband Dwayne of East Prospect, and Lorie Restuccia and her husband Joseph of Dallastown; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a great, great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Memorial contributions may be made to Chanceford Alliance Church, 2142 Furnace Road, Felton, PA 17322.
