Evangeline M. Herman

Evangeline M. “Angie” (Mitchell) Herman, 83, passed away Wednesday, November 06, 2024 at Rest Haven – York. She was the wife of the late Frank E. “Ed” Herman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00AM, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be Deacon Margaret Folkemer-Leonard. A viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:00AM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Born May 30, 1941 in York, she was the daughter of the late Elwood P. and Ethel A. (Shenberger) Mitchell.

She was employed with Weis Markets as a cashier for several years and previously worked as a picker with Wolfgang Candy Company.

A member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and former Sunday School Teacher at Fourth United Methodist Church, she was also a life-member of the Liberty Fire Company – North York. She was past president of the York County Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary and a graduate of the very first class of York County EMT’s.

Mrs. Herman is survived by two sons, Kerry E. Herman and his wife Debra of York and Kevin E. Herman and his wife, Karen; six grandchildren, Megan, Eileen, Noah, Kody, Dayna and Derek; three great grandchildren, Paisleigh, Ian and David, nephews and Michael D. Ruppert, who held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her son, Kraig E. Herman and her brother, E. Hayden Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Union Fire Company No.1, 201 York Street, Manchester, Pa 17345.
