Eugene P. Kalyan

POTTSVILLE- Eugene P. Kalyan, 67, of Pottsville, passed away Thursday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center, East Norwegian Street, Pottsville. Born in Pottsville on September 13, 1941, he was a son of the late Peter and Anna Kostelny Kalyan. Gene was a 1960 graduate of Pottsville High School. He was a Navy veteran. Gene was a supervisor at the former Pottsville Bleach and Dye, Port Carbon. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. Gene enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Kalyan. Gene is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra L. Kosick Kalyan, of Pottsville; his five sons, Timothy, husband of Pam, of Friedensburg, Eugene P., Jr., of Pottsville, Jeffrey, husband of Michelle, of Cressona, James, husband of Beth, of Pottsville and Jason Kalyan, husband of Michelle, of Lake Wynonah; his seven beloved Grandchildren, Marissa, Samantha, twins, Michael and Matthew, Gina, Joshua and Taylor; his two sisters, Marie Hannaway, wife of Jack, of Mechanicsville and Rosalie Greenawalt, wife of Glenn, of Macungie; his two brothers, Peter Kalyan, husband of Pamela, of Las Vegas, NV and Joseph Kalyan, of Pottsville; several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville.
