Eugene J. Morris

LUZERNE-Eugene "Gene" J. Morris, 53, of Miller Street, Luzerne, died Wednesday morning, June 27, 2007, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 10, 1954, he was the son of Shirley (Johnson) Morris of Kingston and the late Eugene G. Morris. He was a graduate of Meyers High School and a member of St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre. Prior to retiring in 1999, he was employed by the Office of Hearing and Appeals Disability Claims. His grandmother, Florence S. Johnson, preceded him in death. Surviving in addition to his mother are two sisters, Maureen Bertram, Luzerne and Sheila Weaver, Kingston; one uncle, Clarence Johnson; two nieces Shirley Gorgol Neyhard and Jill Bertram Strock; two great nieces Kaitlin Gorgol and Jaina Neyhard; one great nephew Alex Gorgal; cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre, with the Reverend J. Duane Gavitt officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 71 North Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
