Eugene F. Roginsky, Sr.

AVOCA - Eugene F. Roginsky, Sr., 77, of Allentown, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown, PA. Born in Duryea on March 3, 1933 , he was a son of the late John A. and Marie (Voyack) Roginsky. He graduated from Duryea High School in 1950, and received an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University. Eugene worked throughout the 1960's at IBM in Fishkill, NY. During the 1970's, he was employed by the Ingersoll-Rand Corporation, Phillipsburg, NJ. He was a Licensed Master Electrician and during the 1970's and 1980's, he was a teacher at the Warren County New Jersey Vocational Technical School. He operated a residential electrical business until his retirement in 1997. Eugene served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Mahanoy City, Post 0024. He was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed gardening, as well as fixing and restoring cars. He enjoyed solving puzzles and mathematics problems. He was a pet lover and a friend to animals. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jane (Barlow), who died March 4, 2009; and brothers John Roginsky and Gerald Roginsky. Surviving are his sons, Dr. Eugene F. Roginsky and wife Jodie, Danville, Dr. Thomas J. Roginsky and wife Dr. Michele Bernardich, Whitehall; grandson Thomas J. Roginsky Jr.; sister Geraldine Candiracci and husband Joseph, Dunmore; sister-in-law Barbara Roginsky,Gaithersburg, MD, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Jumper, Duryea, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be at 10:30AM at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home,728 Main St, Avoca. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 1000 Main St., Avoca on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 11:00AM. Officiating will be Father Michael Litchek. Interment will be in Langcliffe Cemetery, Avoca. Friends are invited to call Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, and Wednesday from 9:30AM to 10:30AM.
