POTTSVILLE- Ethel S. (Shipe) Reilly, 87, of Pottsville, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson, Pottsville. Born on August 27, 1925 in Tamaqua, she was the daughter of Irvin R. and Ethel (Flexer) Shipe. Ethel graduated from Port Carbon Area High School and worked for the Blue Mountain Elementary School as a secretary till she retired in 1991. For many years, Ethel was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Port Carbon and recently she attended Faith Worship Center of Schuylkill County with her daughter, Diane. She was an active member of the American Legion’s Ladies Auxiliary, Port Carbon and Landingville Fire Company. Ethel was a very patriotic woman and loved spending time with her family. Ethel was preceded in death by; her husband, John A. Reilly, three daughters, Charlene Kemple, Faith DeLong and Nadine Moyer. Surviving are two daughters, E. Diane Hauptly and husband Thomas, Pottsville, Karen Moyer and her husband, Martin, Orwigsburg, son in law, John Kemple, 4 grandchildren, Terri Wessner, Michele Phillips, Melinda Trezise, Bradly Moyer, 7 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July, 29, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 6th& W. Market Streets, Pottsville, with Pastor Doug Cresswell, Faith Worship Center of Schuylkill County, officiating. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Viewing will be held Sunday evening 6:00-8:00PM and Monday 10:00AM till the time of the service In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to the Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901
