Ethel May (Tracey) Platts

JACOBUS - Ethel May (Tracey) Platts, 85, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Donald G. Platts, Sr. to whom she was married for 57 years on February 5, 2009. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 15, 2009 at Christ United Methodist Church, 200 North Main Street, Jacobus with her pastor, The Rev. Randy S. Hughes officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 PM Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 10-11:00 AM Friday at the Church. Burial will be in Christ U.M. Cemetery. The family requests attendees to dress casually for the viewings and service. Born April 9, 1924 in Baltimore, MD a daughter of the late James S. and Katie L. (Johnson) Tracey, she retired in 1981 from Rest Haven - York after more than 11 years of service. Mrs. Platts was a former member of Ladies Auxiliary at Jacobus Fire Co. and AARP National Chapter. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Platts is survived by three sons, David L. Bailey of Glen Rock, Donald G. Platts, Jr. and wife Gail Platts of Leaders Heights, and Kevin M. Platts of Dallastown; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret I. Boyer of Loganville. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph S. Tracey.
